Help your patients start recovering now.
Eating disorders are on the rise.
It's been an incredibly challenging few years. The Covid-19 pandemic took a lot away from everyone, and we are still seeing a huge increase in mental health concerns. The increase in eating disorders continues and has been referred to as the "shadow pandemic".
You can help.
You can help people living with eating disorders, no matter what area you work in, as a health care provider. You may even be the first person to pick up on the red flags of an eating disorder. Regardless of whether you pick up on the eating disorder or not, you can still advocate for early and timely intervention to reduce harm and suffering.

The hospital programs are overflowing.
Hospitals programs are overflowing and waitlists are just getting longer. Our healthcare systems are struggling to keep up with the ever-increasing need for eating disorder care.
Any health care provider can help share the load.
HCPs in the community are stepping up to help offload hospital programs. If eating disorder care can start in primary care settings, hospital stays can be reduced or avoided altogether. This is a win-win situation, isn't it?
If you're feeling unprepared, worried and fearful of making a mistake, you're not alone.
Every single day, I hear HCPs say they aren't sure how to manage eating disorder care. Most training programs, regardless of health discipline, do not train us in detecting, assessing and treating eating disorders. Of course you're having trouble getting your feet beneath you when an eating disorder case comes across your caseload.
Don't let imposter syndrome hold you back.
Every health care provider I have worked with starts there too. They tell me they are afraid of saying something wrong, so they don't say anything at all. HCPs everywhere are feeling stuck.
This is why I do this work.

Hi. I’m Jillian Walsh, RD, RP
Eating Disorder Care Provider and Health Educator
I am the founder and Clinical Lead at Change Creates Change Eating Disorder Care where I specialize in working with families who have a child living with an eating disorder. I became a dietitian in 2014 and later completed my masters to become a counselling therapist in 2019. I have spent over ten years working with all ages of folks living with eating disorders across Canada in outpatient, day treatment, inpatient and now private practice.
Eating disorders are one of the most deadly mental illnesses, yet health care providers often receive inadequate formal training in this area. I created this course so I could bridge this gap. My goal is to educate other health care providers about eating disorder care, but most importantly, improve your confidence in supporting folks living with eating disorders.
Let me teach you how to navigate addressing suspicions of an eating disorder and treatment best practices. We can work together to share the burden of eating disorders on our hospital system and avoid treatment delays.
And together, we fight the eating disorder.
